Our very first Welsh Mountain mare, Kismet Cusan, by Nattai Imperial. She was an unplanned purchase at the Kismet Stud dispersal sale I attended with Marge and Cliff Brown in 1990. Her presence and movement were stunning as she was paraded and even though she was an unbroken 14 year old maiden mare, I just couldn’t sit on my hands. When the rest of the family came to pick me up, my 2 young girls were thrilled with my purchase – my hubby less so! After running with a very tolerant Judaroo Karl in 1993, she produced a filly – B.Tympani – retained by the stud.
Our purchase of the very well bred mare Imperial Jezebel (a full sister to I. Julianna) was our first introduction to section B’s. She was an absolute gem – producing stunning and versatile saddle ponies who are now succeeding everywhere from the show ring through to eventing and all facets of Pony Club.
Early on we were very thankful for the opportunity to lease wonderful older stallions such as Twyford Negus (Imp), Pasadena Beethoven, Nattai Rhadlon and also the young Revel bred Imperial Pranc. In 2006, Tina Taylor offered us the outstanding chance to purchase her very successful Coed Coch Bari (Imp) stallion, Nattai Martyn which we were thrilled to accept.
The stud has expanded from this point with the careful selection of both A and B mares carrying well established and successful bloodlines to retain the bone, substance, movement and temperament for which Welshies are renowned.
It’s heart warming and motivating for us all to receive constantly positive feedback from our clients and to know that our ponies are giving so much pleasure to children and adults alike.
